Written in the Holiday Music Motel during a Steel Bridge Song Fest..can't remember which one now. Johnny Lowe is from Memphis and was on a mission to cook us up some soul food. He was making his gramma's hot water corn bread the whole time we wrote this song. We were talking about family histories and outlaw stories in our pasts. Started writing and brought in James Hall and Corinne Lee from Atlanta. Then we recorded it later that next mornin with Steve Hamilton. It's rough but suits the song.
