This song was written for Lucy, the mother of my best friend who died at 20 in a car crash. Lucy is a master gardener and we have always planted roses in Sequoia's honor. Angel Face Rose is a real variety of roses. Light pink and fragrant. The rose bush was planted at the base of Mt. Shasta, CA. Started it there and finished with my co-writer Robert k. Wolf in the Surefire Publishing office on music row, Nashville. We both cried alot during the writing of this one!
